Engineers Forum Nagpur has arranged a technical visit to Saoner I Coal Mines of WCL. Out of 52 Engineers who consented for visit. 36 Engineers visited the Coal Mines.

The Bus left at 9:15 AM from IWWA. We went to Adasa and had Ganpati Darshan. The team was welcomed by Er. Manoj Ade, Er. Subbarao, Er. P. L. Joshi & others from WCL and nice break fast and tea was offered. Er. A. R. Sagi joined the team.

The Group went to WCL transit center, where presentation was given by mine incharge Er. Sodha about working of WCL, working of Saoner I Coal Mines & use of heavy equipments etc. The team then went to mine. Three Groups were made & travel by rope way ladder was explained to the Engineers.

All 36 Engineers went to about 130 meter below the ground and the method of excavation, putting explosives, support rods, actual blasting, coal removal & transparation was explained. Ventilation was maintained effectively. The seapage water accumalets at the lowest level. It is purified & pumped for use of WCL Colony.

Safety is given the utmost importance while working and appropriate safety slogans were put at suitable places. We returned to mine entrance by rope way chair mechanism, which was a thrilling experience for all the 36 Engineers.

We had dinner in Rest House with WCL team Engineers, Vote of thanks was given to WCL team for excellent visit & arrangements. All the Engineers were extremely happy for the useful visit & knowledge gained. The team returned to IWWA & dispersed.

Next visit to 660 MW KTPS Project and 210 MW working TPS on 3.2.2013 was announced by Er. S. D. Shinde.
