60 Nos. Engineers of Engineers’ Forum, Nagpur and 3 Nos. Engineering Students Visited Loco Shed on
2-12-2012 at 10:45 AM. In the meeting hall Er. Siddhu SrDEN, C. Rly. welcomed Er. S. D. Shinde and Visiting Engineers. Er. Shinde Presented a bouqet to Sr. DEN on behalf of Engineers’ Forum Nagpur.

Sr DEN briefly spoke about Ajni Loco Shed, its achievements at National level, use of new technology and sefety importance and safety practices. He also answered suitably to some querries and lelt for some function.

Er. Shrivastava of Loco Shed then gave a presentation about types of Locomotives and development in Locos speed and HP. He also explained the terminology by which Locomotives are named. The Loco of 6500 HP in also now available. Er. Shrivasata replied to many querries by the visiting Engineers to their satisfaction.

The protection system for Loco drivers for safety purpose & monitoring is aslo explained. The team then had Breakefast Packets and fruiti. The team was divided into 5 groups and one Engineer faculty from Locoshed was made the faculty for the group. Er. Rajiv Katyarmal, Er. Jethwa, Er. Khade, Er. Prashant, and Er. Shrivastava headed the groups.

Each team then visited the Locoshed in 5 groups, and shown traction motor, coupling, gear box and driving motor on wheels and Loco. The EOT Crane to Lift Heavy loads was also shown to the team.

Each team entered into the Locomotive and saw the actual running and all the details & protection system and then everybody understood and appreciated the improtant duty of the Locodriver. The team also visited the electronic Laboratory.

Er. S. D. Shinde / Er. Tayade gave votes of thanks to the C. Rly engineers team for the efforts to explain the working of Locoshed, especially Locodirvers. The team returned to IWWA and dispersed.
